Time for Dancing – Specialised Pre-school class (3 & 4 year olds)
Time for Dancing is an exciting dance experience class for Pre-school children (ages 3 & 4). The programme has been created by dance and childhood music professionals. Time for Dancing is a magical mix of music, dance basics, imagination and fun!
Children learn to express themselves while developing social skills, musicality and body awareness. Just watch their confidence and love of performance grow.
Rosette Levels in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Ballet (ideal for 4 – 8 year olds)
Four individually choreographed presentation and performance syllabi for children from 4 years, designed to introduce children to dance and the examination system in a fun and imaginative way.
The music and movement encourages the very young dancer to use their imagination whilst at the same time helping to develop rhythm, co-ordination and an enjoyment of dance.
Rosette Pre Grades One and Two in all disciplines are presentation classes with the Teacher / Demonstrator encouraged to participate with the children, either dancing or giving helpful guidance whilst building a confident and independent dancer.
Rosette Pre Grade Three is an examination without Teacher participation.
The children proudly treasure the beautiful rosettes presented at the completion of their Presentation Class or Examination and, with the attractive colours of the Rosettes used to differentiate between the various disciplines and levels, a child could move between the disciplines without duplication of their rosettes.

Hip Hop
The NZAMD Hip Hop Syllabus is an energetic style of dance with versatile hip hop moves extending the students and giving an exciting progression up through the levels.
Tap
Choreographed by Keith Clifton (USA) the NZAMD American Tap offers students and teachers the necessary training and progression to become an accomplished tap dancer.
The American Tap consists of barre work, centre work, and set or teachers’ own choreographed dances. Keith Clifton’s choreography develops an exciting rhythmical array of beats throughout the levels, taking NZAMD tap well into the 21st century.

Jazz
The syllabus is designed with comprehensive warm-ups, barre and floor work, progressions with turns and leaps and stylish combinations. Each Grade is completed with a Dance.
The NZAMD Jazz syllabus is suitable for the once a week student as well as the dancer who is aiming for a dance career.
Ballet
The NZAMD Ballet Syllabus has been refreshed with new choreography and music. Ballet is an important base for most dance disciplines and the NZAMD Ballet syllabus is designed to allow students to progress without pressure, the length of the lower grades making it attractive for the once a week student, as well as being progressively challenging for the more committed student.
All levels include a dance and Grades One and two also include an expressive Mime which encourages the students to develop their acting ability.

Contemporary
Choreographed by Ann Dewey, the Contemporary syllabus teaches students to understand the concepts of contemporary movement such as weight, flow, momentum, and the use of gravity, they continue to enjoy a sense of dance while focusing on freedom of movement and spatial awareness.
Adult Classes
We offer classes for Adults in Tap and Jazz. These are fun classes where enjoyment is the top priority while also learning new routines in a positive environment.
